Features

Collaboration:

At my current job, I am tasked to work with other fulfillment team members to pick, prep, and ship out online orders to people all over the country. We have a tight time schedule that we have to meet daily, so my team and I have to put in our best effort so the process will run smoothly. Also, by being trained in multiple departments, it allows me to have proper knowledge on how to work with different groups of people.

Culture:

Something that I have learned about in the area of culture is how different student populations are among numerous nations. For instance, having international friends exposed to their way of life and customs, which are significantly different from the United States. Through international culture, it has inspired me to want to travel the world more to expand my knowledge on how different people live their lives.

Critical Problem-Solving:

In COMM 210, I was assigned to do a service-learning project with a group of four other people. We collaborated on this project throughout the semester by teaming up with a local non-profit organization. We dealt with problem-solving by volunteering at a local shelter to help those in need for the upcoming winter.

Communication:

By taking a course about communication in media, it has taught me how the way different social media platforms work in today's society and how we are connected with them. I have learned multiple ways with how communication is interwoven in the idea of online platforms. Not only is social media used for people, but it is also a way for businesses and influencers to communicate with their customers in order to make a living. 

Competencies:

I have learned how to properly display communication competency through my exposure at Texas A&M. By being in a different educational environment, compared to my previous college and high school has taught me how to grow as a communicator. In an environment that was so welcoming, I learned how to approach different students and professors to have conversations in different social scenarios.
